The Brief

21C is reimagining how students and teachers engage with GCSE Maths. Their AI-powered platform includes 21C, a digital teaching hub, and Pocket Maths, a curriculum-led app. Together, these tools offer tailored learning for students and valuable support for teachers. At the heart of their approach is the use of AI Teachers, video avatars that guide students through content in a way that feels natural and human.

They came to us to create an animation for educational institutions that would introduce their product to schools and educators, especially those at the GCSE level from 14-16. The videos needed to be educational and informative, but also act as a powerful sales tool to build awareness, increase users, and raise the product’s profile across the education sector. The animation was designed to explain the platform clearly while capturing the personality and intelligence of the 21C brand

Our Response

We brought 21C’s platform to life with an animation that focused on clarity, pace and personality. The centrepiece of the platform is its AI Teachers, virtual avatars that support student learning through content aligned with the UK’s GCSE Maths curriculum. These avatars simulate real teacher interactions, making digital learning feel more engaging and personalised.

To showcase this, we animated the platform’s user interface using clean transitions and fluid sliding screens, giving the viewer a broad view of the platform as well as a more focused look into some of the features. When creating an animation for the education sector we know each major feature has to be introduced with purpose. Interactive lessons, progress tracking, classroom tools for teachers, and fun, game-based elements were all presented in a way that was easy to follow and visually sharp.

The visual design borrowed from 21C’s brand identity, using their distinctive shapes, colours and iconography. We added dynamic touches like wiggling lines, scribbles and animated highlights to draw attention to key points, or focused parts of their platform. These playful flourishes helped balance the educational tone with something more vibrant, approachable, and easy to understand.
