We collaborated with George the Poet to create a character led animation
The Brief
George the Poet reached out to us here at The Animation Guys and wanted to see if it was possible to produce a 4-minute animated video with lip sync. However, the deadline was 1 week.
Our Response
The first hurdle within this project was, of course, the timescale. George the poet had already done a fantastic job to provide the story, it was now up to our creative and technical team to develop some punchy animation. We were lucky that the topic was around cells, so we developed these “blob” like characters to represent the different elements.
We took inspiration from the stage. We developed an environment that had a somewhat “theatrical” approach which helped us stage the scene George the poet had created. And of course, it would be rude not for us to create an animated version of George to help tell the story. It’s worth pointing out, we developed some bespoke tech that made this possible.
