For businesses with a complex proposition or a new product offering that people aren’t yet familiar with, an animated demo video is essential. They turn complicated propositions or concepts into clear and concise information that’s easy to digest.

Tell Me More

Few people are willing to trawl through a step-by-step guide that stretches to a thousand words. But most are happy to watch a two minute video that contains all the same information…if not more. In fact, according to a report by Brainshark, the amount of information retained in one minute of online video is equal to around 1.8 million written words.

Animated demo videos are a broad form. They can show people how to navigate through a website or registration process. Or demonstrate all the features of a new piece of technology. They can even be used to train up an entire workforce. A report by Insivia claimed viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text. The moral of the story? If you want your instructions to be remembered, an animated demo video can help.

The addition of animation and motion graphics is what makes a demo video really shine. It can depict abstract concepts that live action might struggle with, distil information into dynamic infographics, and closely align visuals with a brand’s identity to make communications more cohesive. It’s also an antidote to the low-quality screen capture demo videos that exist so freely on the internet.

Our Process

At The Animation Guys, we’ve been lucky to create animated demo videos for some fantastic clients and there is a fine art to designing a successful one! It needs to be powerful, emotive, action-based, informational but not too sales focused. Quite a balance!

Our process usually flows a little bit like this:

  • Initial consultation: A kick off phone call or visit to understand your objectives.
  • Brand guidelines: We’ll ask for a copy of the company’s brand guidelines. If these don’t exist, fear not, we’ll agree some points to help us ensure the video is on brand.
  • Ideas and concepts: We’ll share some design ideas and concepts for initial input.
  • Storyboard: Map out the flow of the video, with rough designs and script.
  • Animation: Once the storyboard has been approved, we’ll move into the animation stage.
  • Finishing touches: Voiceover, audio and other bits are added to the animation.

Tadaa!

The animated demo video is complete and ready to wow your audience!
