Testimonial Video

As any business in the service industry will know, people buy from people. So one of the best ways to build credibility and earn a potential customer’s trust is to tell a story from the perspective of a current customer. This is where testimonial videos come in.

An animated testimonial video helps potential customers see the more human side of a company and the people who work with them. Hearing the voices and seeing the faces of real people talking about real life situations carries much more weight than just a written testimonial. It lets a customer go past the professional exterior and experience how it might actually feel to work with (or use the service of) a company.

An animated testimonial video can be one of the final deciding factors in a customer’s journey when they’re choosing a product or service. They might have researched the offering in great depth, watched some explainer videos to grasp how everything works and compared prices with competitors. If they’re happy with the specifics, it’s the people and culture that could seal the deal. Put simply, testimonial videos can be the final nudge that will encourage a customer to choose your company over another.

While most animated testimonial videos make use of the talking heads format, the opportunities are far more expansive. Here at The Animation Guys, our expertise in animation and motion graphics means we can weave animated elements into live action footage. That might mean illustrating or emphasising points as they’re made. Or adding in supporting facts and figures.

Animated Social Media Video

Social Media Video

Social media has boomed over the past decade. It has now become an essential piece in the marketing puzzle and helped some businesses build up bigger followings than most magazines or TV channels. Of the top 20 most popular websites on the internet, six of them are social media sites.

But how do you build a strong following? And with so many people posting content on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, how do you cut through the noise?
The answer to the first question is engaging content. The answer to the second is animated social media video.

Animated Social media video is moving image content that’s designed to live on social media channels. This means short, sharp bursts of content that grab people’s attention as they scroll through their feed. Anyone can post up an image or a few lines of text, but very few can post a high quality piece of animated video. By creating content that most people can’t, that’s how brands and businesses can cut through the noise.

As well as grabbing attention, video content can also make social media messages more memorable. The human brain finds it much easier to compute visuals than text, so a video is processed more effortlessly (and in less time) than any other form. That means audiences are more likely to engage with a social media video than they would with a static image or text update.

Social media video is also a clever way for a business to align itself with big news stories on a small budget. Newsjacking (piggybacking on current events to promote a brand or product) has become increasingly popular and lends itself perfectly to the rapid-fire nature of social media.

Corporate Video

An animated corporate video can help corporate clients (like those in banking, fintech, insurance, accounting and legal services) engage individually with employees, customers and other businesses.

The main difference between a corporate video and more conventional video advertising is its audience. While broadcast advertising, such as a TV commercial, puts a business message in front of a general audience, corporate video is much more specific. It can be used to introduce new employees to ways of working, used as part of a training process, or demonstrate how a product or service can work for a customer. It might help show the impact of a company’s corporate social responsibility or deliver an overview of annual financial results. If a message needs to be communicated across any part of a business, video can help tell the story.

So a corporate video is a flexible creature. But it’s also a very effective one. Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text. And according to a Forbes Insight report, 59% of senior corporate executives said that if both text and video are available on the same topic, they would prefer to watch a video. 42% of them went on to say that they made a business-related purchase after watching an online video.

The corporate world is full of reports, reviews, papers and jargon. Cutting through that noise with a slick, succinct video can do wonders for the bottom line. So far, we’ve helped brands and businesses like Coca Cola, 3SC, Wellers and the Business Continuity Institute use video to their advantage.

Animated Demo Video

For businesses with a complex proposition or a new product offering that people aren’t yet familiar with, an animated demo video is essential. They turn complicated propositions or concepts into clear and concise information that’s easy to digest.

Tell Me More

Few people are willing to trawl through a step-by-step guide that stretches to a thousand words. But most are happy to watch a two minute video that contains all the same information…if not more. In fact, according to a report by Brainshark, the amount of information retained in one minute of online video is equal to around 1.8 million written words.

Animated demo videos are a broad form. They can show people how to navigate through a website or registration process. Or demonstrate all the features of a new piece of technology. They can even be used to train up an entire workforce. A report by Insivia claimed viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text. The moral of the story? If you want your instructions to be remembered, an animated demo video can help.

The addition of animation and motion graphics is what makes a demo video really shine. It can depict abstract concepts that live action might struggle with, distil information into dynamic infographics, and closely align visuals with a brand’s identity to make communications more cohesive. It’s also an antidote to the low-quality screen capture demo videos that exist so freely on the internet.

Our Process

At The Animation Guys, we’ve been lucky to create animated demo videos for some fantastic clients and there is a fine art to designing a successful one! It needs to be powerful, emotive, action-based, informational but not too sales focused. Quite a balance!

Our process usually flows a little bit like this:

  • Initial consultation: A kick off phone call or visit to understand your objectives.
  • Brand guidelines: We’ll ask for a copy of the company’s brand guidelines. If these don’t exist, fear not, we’ll agree some points to help us ensure the video is on brand.
  • Ideas and concepts: We’ll share some design ideas and concepts for initial input.
  • Storyboard: Map out the flow of the video, with rough designs and script.
  • Animation: Once the storyboard has been approved, we’ll move into the animation stage.
  • Finishing touches: Voiceover, audio and other bits are added to the animation.

Tadaa!

The animated demo video is complete and ready to wow your audience!

Below you can see examples of animated demo videos we have made for our clients. If you would like to find out more about how animation could help your business, get in touch.

Explainer Video

An explainer video is exactly what it says on the tin.

It’s a video that helps explain a complex or lengthy proposition in a simple and concise way.

At The Animation Guys we have experience of producing a captivating explainer video for brands and companies across the world.

What Is An Explainer Video?

An animated explainer video is one of the more common videos in the animation world and can have slightly different meanings depending on peoples interpretations. At The Animation Guys, an explainer video is simply a video that serves to explain a product or service with the aim of generating engagement, understanding whilst looking to captivate an audience to ultimately then consider undertaking a call to action.

How Long Is An Explainer Video?

Typically they are around 60-90 seconds with around 150-200 words featured within the animation script. The start of the video looks to introduce the product/concept with the middle outlining key benefits and features while the end usually concludes with a call to action from the viewer.

Show Me An Example Of An Explainer Video….

Glad you asked. The video below is a 2D animation we worked with insurance provider Grenson. Have a watch and we can catch up below.

As you just saw, the video introduces a potentially difficult to understand concept with ‘Gap Insurance’ and then seeks to explain it clearly, in a concise and visually easy to absorb manner. The end result visualises a happy family that have had their problem solved by using the service, therefore demonstrating the value of the concept.

How Can You Use An Explainer Video?

An explainer video is a particularly useful type of video marketing for businesses launching a new product or service that needs more than just a one-line introduction. But that’s just the beginning. Explainer videos might be used to describe how the business itself works. Or to help reduce the number of customer support enquiries a business gets by responding to some frequently asked questions. They can also convey company values and internal processes to new employees.

Put simply, an animated video can help every business present a clearer message to its audience. It can take a supposedly dry piece of information and transform it into an engaging and visual piece of content. Content that might assist an audience in the decision making process, build their understanding of a subject, or create an emotional connection.

Animation and motion graphics are an essential ingredient for a truly effective final video. They can help illustrate tricky concepts in a clear way to make a topic feel more human, and depict environments that just can’t be created in the real world. They’re also more shareable and lead to greater levels of engagement. Want some proof? A Mist Media report found that the average internet user spends 88% more time on a website with video than one without. And according to comScore, website visitors who view video content tend to stay two minutes longer on average and are 64% more likely to purchase than other website visitors.
